A man from Stockport is raising money for charity today by doing a 10-mile walk – on stilts.
Noel Gallimore is setting off from Manchester and will finish up at Beechwood Cancer Care in Adswood.
The 43-year-old began using the stilts as part of his job as a plasterer and is now taking on the challenge to complete a long walk wearing them.
He says he’s says he’s been doing some practise in preparation: “I train on Bridgehall [school] on the playground on there.
“Everyone’s been looking at me a bit strangely, but I put a leaftlet out [explaining what I was doing].
“It’s taking place in Manchester and going all the way down the A6.
“It’ll go through Edgeley Precinct to Beechwood.”
