The North West is a hotspot of motorcycle theft.
Our region is the third highest in the country with figures showing around thirty motorbikes a month are being taken by thieves.
Dave Luscombe is from the Motorcycle Industry Association and says the growing popularity of bikes is causing the crime rate to rise.
He has this advice for bikers:
“The most important thing is to make sure it’s locked to something immovable, something solid. That goes for when you’re out and it also goes for where your bike spends most of its time which is at home.”
“So make sure it’s locked and make it one of those bikes that thieves are not going to be interested in, make it a deterrent factor by locking it and security marking it”.
